Supplementary Information

1800 Sep. 1:  John H. Dopson married Electa Swinnerton in Ross County, Ohio.

1812 Jun. 2 to Sep. 19:  John H. Dopson served as a 4 Sergeant in Caption Joab Norton’s Company of riflemen during the War of 1812.  During his service he contracted “Sandusky Fever” which “ruined his health” and lead to his death on 24 Jan. 1813.  His wife, Electa was left with “small children” and later applied for a pension based upon John’s service.

1850 Federal Census, Delaware, Delaware, Ohio (Page 174) enumerates Electa Dopson (age 68, b. MA) in the home of Robert Jones (age 25, b. OH), Hannah Jones (age 21, b. England), and James Bevens (age 18, b. Wales).
