Living in Dwelling 342 (Family 354) was the
household of JOHN BOWEN, who was age 59, born in MS (his father born in SC, his
mother born in AL). He was a retail merchant, specializing in
groceries; and he owned his home free of mortgage. His wife ADA J. BOWEN was age 47, born in AR
(both parents born in GA). (He probably miscopied the name “Annie J.
Bowen.”) They had been married for
32 years, and she had given birth to six children, all of whom were living at
this time. Living with them was CLARA B.
FUNK, their widowed daughter, who was age 19, born in AR. All three of them were able to read and

1941 Oct 7:
ROBERT N. JONES died this date and was buried in the Graham Cemetery,
about 10 miles from Benton (Saline), AR.
1984 May 11:
CLARA B. (BOWEN) JONES died this date per Dovea
Doris Bowen Howard, 1986. The Social
Security Death Index states that her last place of residence was Hot Springs National Park
(Garland),
AR. She was buried beside her deceased
husband, in Graham
