Living in Dwelling 108 (Family 108) was the household of GEORGE CONERT, who was age 29, born in AR (both his parents born in NC). He was a blacksmith, working on his own account, owning his home (whether it was mortgaged not indicated). His wife IDA CONERT was age 28, born in AR (as were both her parents). Both of them were able to read and write. They had been married for nine years, and she had given birth to four children, all of whom were still living. They reported four children, all of whom were born in AR—(1) RUTH CONERT (daughter, age 8, attending school, able to read and write), (2) MARY CONERT (daughter, age 4), (3) HARISON CONERT (son, age 2), and (4) WILLIS CHAPMAN (“stepchild,” male, age 13, farm laborer, able to read and write, attending school). WILLIS CHAPMAN was the child of IDA CONERT by her first husband, EMMETT CHAPMAN. This is consistent with the fact that they reported that they had been married nine years.
